Lost / Overwritten Save File - PC

Please be aware that we are unable to restore the save file itself if it was deleted/overwritten from your desktop. However, you may be able to check the Steam Cloud Storage. If the save is not overwritten there, you could potentially bring it back to the current version of the game. However, please note that we're not able to restore the save file itself.

Steam Cloud troubleshooting for the Host of the session:

  1. Turn off Steam Cloud (Please select Steam > Settings > Cloud > Disable Steam Cloud, and for Green Hell select Green Hell > Properties > Steam Cloud > Disable).

  2. Log into the Steam Cloud Viewer: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

  3. You should be able to navigate to Green Hell > Show Files > MPSlot[number].sav/MPSlot[number].sav.png or SPSlot[number].sav/SPSlot[number].sav.png > Download.

  4. Please note that the save files are numbered from 0 to 4, where 0 means the first slot of the "Load Game" Menu, and 4 is the last one.

  5. Access the default path for saves C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your unique Steam ID]\815370\remote. (If your saved files are not under this location, please navigate to a path similar to the one where you have Steam installed.)

  6. Paste your save file along with the screenshot in the folder and check if they load correctly.

Steam Cloud troubleshooting for the Clients of the session:

  1. Turn off Steam Cloud (Please select Steam > Settings > Cloud > Disable Steam Cloud, and for Green Hell select Green Hell > Properties > Steam Cloud > Disable).

  2. Log into the Steam Cloud Viewer: https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage

  3. You should be able to navigate to Green Hell > Show Files > coop > [String Numbers Tied to the coop game you played] > Download.

  4. Access the default path for saves C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your unique Steam ID]\815370\remote. (If your saved files are not under this location, please navigate to a path similar to the one where you have Steam installed.)

  5. Paste your save file in the folder and check if they load correctly.
