Drinking & Eating

In StarRupture, players must manage their hunger and thirst levels to ensure survival. The game’s User Interface features a three-stage warning system to indicate the current sustenance status - these icons also appear on the lower-left side of the HUD (Heads-Up Display)

The warning system is color-coded and represents the severity of a character’s needs:

White Indicator - This icon next to the Character's portrait serves as an initial reminder that the character’s hunger or thirst levels are beginning to drop, prompting the user to find consumables.

Orange Indicator - This icon shows up on HUD and next to the character's portrait - it indicates a warning, signifying that hunger or thirst has reached more moderate levels - seek out food or water to avoid penalties.

Red Indicator - Critical warning, indicating that the character is suffering from severe hunger or thirst that needs to be satisfied immediately.

Players can find a variety of consumable items in the game world to restore their hunger and thirst levels.

THIRST

Thirst can be quenched by collecting and consuming a Hydrobulb - a native to Arcadia-7 plant that grows near the bodies of water.

HUNGER

Hunger can be satisfied by consuming a wide array of food items, often derived from the local flora on Arcadia-7. Please remember that each plant has its own status effects and possible penalties upon consuming.

A key mechanic associated with consumption is toxicity. Players must be mindful of the toxicity levels of the items they ingest, as some consumables may induce negative status effects or poisoning if eaten indiscriminately.
